Mundu IM hits the App Catalog

Mundu IM, the highly anticipated multi-protocol, multi-platform instant messaging solution has finally hit the App Catalog after spending some time available only as a web-only service to webOS users. Priced at a sweet $1.50 during Palm's "Half-time" 50% off everything in the App Catalog sale, MunduIM supports all of the platforms that webOS does out of the box with and a few that it doesn't: MSN Messenger, Facebook, and XMPP.
Now, don't get too excited. After using the application for an afternoon I've come to the same conclusion that I did when we first took a look at the web-only version back in October: having these services rolled into Synergy - you know that Facebook almost certainly will (and already can be by way of a little homebrew) and that MSN Messenger has a good chance - will always be superior to an app like this. Further, Mundu's webOS implementation here is half-hearted at best - the program is styled using little more than the assets that are included with the SDK and support documentation is completely absent (I can't for the life of me figure out how to sign into Facebook messaging).
Those who absolutely can't do without MSN and official Facebook chat support in Synergy will be better off in continuing to use the web-based version until either Mundu dresses their webOS app up to acceptable levels, or those services make their way into Synergy.
